Default Top 5 drivers' car ever - Automobile Magazine

The 1972 Porsche 911 RS was listed as one of the top 5. I guess unmolested original examples are running a quarter million dollars, they say.

a '72 RS would indeed be quite rare.

if documented, worth maybe 10x the value of a '73 RS... and a small part of history would be rewritten

The main article is called, "Top 25 Cars Of All Time."

They have broken it down as follows:

DRIVERS CARS:
BMW E30 M3
Ferrari F430
Lotus Elan
Porsche 911 Carrera RS
Volkswagen Rabbit GTI

TECH INNOVATORS:
Audi Quattro
Benz Patent Motorwagen (1886)
Citroen Traction Avant
BMC Mini
Bugatti Veyron 16.4

SUPERCARS:
McLaren F1
Lamborghini Miura
Mercedes-Benz 300SL
Ferrari F40
Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B

RACING CARS:
Lotus 49
Auto Union
Miller 91
Porsche 917
Dodge Charger Daytona

ICONS:
Miliary Jeep
Volkswagen Beetle
Chevrolet Corvette
Jaguar E-type
Ford Model T

---------------------------------------------

I only have a problem with the Veyron 16.4 and the Dodge Charger Daytona. Everything else looks pretty OK.

what about my '64 barracuba? after droping the 271 for the 318 w/340 heads, the holleys, edellbrocks and hookers, deleting the push buttons and adding a four speed w/ram rod I had a very drivable car. It was hard to see right of the air filters due to the tunnel rams and velocity stacks. very drivable car...
