There is red one with tan interior that has about 12K miles on it and looks spectacular. It was on Ebay recently and did not meet its reserve. Buy it now was about 65K. Its in Conn. and the onwer is a racer and collector. Look in

Default Projected use of Speedster

So yea I have seen them around in the last 6 months for the 50k range and I even saw one in the 40's, granted it had 85k miles on it. In order to narrow down the market you might want to consider things besides price. Are you going to drive it often or are you looking for a garage piece? Thats a big factor.
Keep it in a garage and keep the miles down for future sale. Mostly for investment. I lost more in market recently than one of these is worth so would rather have tangibles I can occasionaly drive for grins that will not go down in value... I hope!

So my 2 cents worth on a Monday.
A 29,ooo mile black one just went for $52,100 Sunday from Fredricksburg, VA. It looked very clean. Looked like a good buy to me. Rather a Porche than loosing equivalent in the stock market right now!

Congrats on you Speedster. Did you do a PPI on it? I don't think I would worry about an extra $5K if its what you want. I think when this recession is over these are going to go up nicely in value. Someone said in five years they would be $100K... which only equals the starting price after 20 years!

Its a poor investment, especially after the stock markets already fallen. I forget what the list was in 89, I am guessing something like 55k or more and now its worth what? 75K if its a <5000 mile garage queen?

Just felt like bumping this. Amazing how these have climbed in value over the past 5 1/2 years. I was considering one before I bought my 993. Now I kind of wish I had!

A bit aggressive maybe, but I don't see them for sale very often anymore. I'm guessing it will fetch close to asking. The only comps I could find were a few lower mileage cars from 2010 and they were going for between $80-100k back then.

So weird that this popped up because I saw an old couple cruising around in one just this weekend. Hadn't seen one in the wild in years. Cool cars.

A 57K miles Turbo-look Speedster just sold at RM Phoenix Auction (Jan 2014) for $126K... per April 2014 SCM!!! So this is an actual auction result.

SCM's assessment was this was very strong retail money, but not ridiculous... and certainly auction results can be manipulated, even at reputable companies like RM, but the market for "collector" cars has been crazy lately, so the "market" is like nailing jello to the wall.

SC/Carrara prices have started to move lately. (personally, I think a nice Carrara Cab is a slam-dunk buy right now... but that's another story)

My guess is that if you really want a Speedster, and can find a good one for $50-60K, chances are you won't get it any cheaper down the road, and if you have one with no pressure to sell, sitting on it won't hurt you much.

Don, rather than spamming multiple threads across several forums can you please follow the rules, pay for membership, list the car for sale with a price, etc? It is a much better route than your current one.
