Default Need Help finding a tire

I need help finding a tire that is no longer made by Michelin. It's a Pilot Sport 225/50ZR16. I need to replace one of my tires that got damaged by a screw. My set only has 8K miles so I'm not looking at replacing the whole set yet.

I looked with the usual suspects, Michelin, Tire Rack, Discount Tire with no luck. Attached is a picture of the thread which very close to the AS tire. Any help will be appreciated.

If the tire is no longer manufactured, you might try a salvage yard. They also interconnect with other
yards which may have your tire.

I think they're less than 4 years old.

Look on the tire for the dates. This may help you decide your direction

I just went through the same thing. My fronts needed replacement and I wanted to get ones the same model as my rears. However, my front size has been discontinued. One day at a local auto shop, I found they had a near new single in my size. So all I needed was to find a mate. I asked a buddy at a local tire shop and he did a check. He logged onto the Yoko web site to check the local warehouse inventory. Sure enough, they had none. But don't go yet! He called the local Yoko rep and asked her to do a bigger search. A couple of days later, she called back to tell him there was one tire left back east in Montreal. Do you know a tire shop guy who would be willing to make a few calls?

Or just buy this one:

We're calling Michelin tomorrow and I also need to contact Tire Rack as they have the tire but in 17s. I also found a bunch on Ebay but again they were also 17 and 18s. Somehow 16s are no longer around.

Found one tire in Indiana. After calling Michelin and Tire Rack, Michelin recommended calling one of the big tire places here in Colorado Springs. I had already tried Costco, Sears and Tire Discount. Today I called Big O Tires and they were able to locate one tire in Indiana. It should be here next week.
