Default Slack Motorsports?

I'm about to order a ducktail from Slack Motorsports. They make one with just the top that must be bonded to a metal frame (factory style - what I have been looking for). Just curious if anybody has had experience with them and their work. Their work on their web site looks impressive.

Have you spoken to Gary Stratton in Orlando FL? He takes you engine lid and bonds a ducktail to it - he may even be using the Slack Motorsports product for all I know. Anyway, if you don't want to do the bonding yourself, Gary will do it and send it back to you primed and ready to go for somewhere around $800.

Here is a Pelican link with more info: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showt...ight=duck+tail

I believe I've heard good things. But, if it isn't a factory piece, I don't understand the need to do the bonding thing. Getty Design makes first class Fiberglass pieces that have great fit and finish, and go on without the need to manufacture. Probably a bit lighter too.

Ed, you make a valid point. I've seen a variety of aftermarket ducks. Getty does make a nice unit, better than most others. I'm just being stubborn. I simply feel that I'll have a better product this way.

KOH, I've got a friend who used to build those exact ducks back in the 80's before going to work with Fox's NASCAR film crew. He no longer has his mold for the top, but has a donor frame and will do the bonding for me.

i just don't know if I would order something that required tight tollerances for fit and finish from a company called " slack"

..either that or they need to fire their marketing guy ....

I thought the same thing when I found their site. Slack is the owner's last name and their work looks pretty impressive.
