Pictures of green 911 (1985?)
I was vacationing in Newport Rodhe Island a few weeks ago
I took these pictures. Nice green colour with red interior and yellow pipping
Can you tell me what year this 911SC is and what the name of that colour is?

Being a 911SC we know that it had to be between 1978 and 1983, inclusive. If an original paint job, it is a rare paint to sample car. That was never a color commonly offered during those years. Green 911s were extremely rare in those years. it was just not a popular color at all then. The only clue to me that it is a later 911SC (1981 through 1983) is by the small rubber grommets on the headlight rings,--that appeared in later years of the SC to make headlight adjustment easier. Without closer shots it would be nearly impossible to go further. Next time, ALSO check the VIN plate on the A pillar and check for the year of manufacture. The code is fairly easy to break. They used letters in those days. For example, a B code meant a 1981 manufacture. A "C" code was a 1982, etc. The most important part about this car is that it appears to be unmessed with. That's rare in these cars. Even the rear turn indicators lenses are the DOT prescribed red as opposed to the "upgraded" yellow.

All Porsche greens (The Aventurine one is not a good representation):
