Hi
I have plugged the battery maintainer into my cig ligther socket, and it works like a charm. The manual says something with make sure there isn't ignition on when it is plugged into the socket. The question then: Can I turn the key (without starting the engine) to just get power on the car when this is plugged in? Or is this bad? Thanks in advance ! |

why not just unplug it when powering the car ? saves the headaches.
My car does not have a HOT cig lighter so I connect direct to the bat. no big deal ..

They recommend to remove the charger while starting to avoid pulling too much current through the charger and damaging it.
If you have a heavy load (like a blower fan) it may draw too much current if the battery is low and damage the charger. It's probably best to remove the charger and avoid the risk.
