You should also consider H1's if you can find them. In reference to vendors, you have a number of them to choose from. IMO I find Pelican to be one of the best, with competitive pricing, large inventory and good customer service.
Thanks all! Whalebird, yes the car is lowered and I thought that was a plus! The seats in it are stock all the way around. Dark blue interior also.
H4's are without question on the shopping list as well as a few other items.
Do most guys order parts through Pelican? What are some of the other catalogs that would be good to order for the SC's? Wondering about quality vs pricing of the vendors.

Race Car
Scot, your in for the time of your life. It's best to get evrything sorted out on the car, not that it's bad, but a proper tune up, alignment, tires etc. I feel like a membership in PCA and participation in Drivers Education(DE) events is an absolute "must do". These things really enhance the ownership experiance. And the DE-if it interests you, it will teach you the extaordinary capabilities of the car and make you a much better, much more safe driver on the street. For only a couple of hundred dollars, you get to drive a Porsche on a track with the instruction of a qualified driver. This is a lifetime achievment that only 911 ownership can provide.
Furthermore, visit the shops in your area that specialize in Porsche and establish a relationship with them. I think that a Porsche owner should "interview" the shops and go with the one that you feel the most comfortable with. Referances from fellow owners(PCA) can go a long way in this process. A trusting and respectful relation with your shop will be a requirment as well.
Good luck and have a blast with your lovely new car.

Thanks for the suggestions and thoughts on the DE ,PCA and taking the car out to the track . Your words are inspiring!
As a former British car owner this is one of the major reasons for seeking out a 911 to me. Healeys and Triumphs make poor track cars although they were good in the rallys. They also spend too much time sitting at car shows!
I have made several friends in the club already and will be taking the car to the track next month at a joint Porsche/BMW gathering.
I was just tired of my 911 and Boxster buddies having all the fun at these events! :-)
As far as a good shop is concerned, the place the PPI was done at (Akers) is probably the oldest and most respected in the Seattle. Great people to deal with!

And another 82 owner here: huge congrats on a fabulous car!!! Now go enjoy that baby!
...btw, find some 7s and 8s (or 9s) in the correct offset: makes all the difference in appearance (and yeah, helps handling, too ).

Congratulations on a great looking car. I got my first 911SC a few months back and have been putting together parts for a suspension rebuild. The guys here heve been very helpful to this 911 newbie and I'm sure they will be to you too!
