Proud new owner of an 82' 911 SC
After a 4 month intensive search( and a few years of dreaming) I am a first time Porsche owner starting today!
The blue metallic 60,000 mile coupe passed the PPI with flying colors yesterday!
Just wanted to pass along to the 911 forum my appreciation for the excellent advice and guidance during the process.
I am looking forward to participating in many future discussions here that come along with ownership. Pictures to follow...

Welcome and congrats. Coupe? Targa? color? modifications? Post some pictures - we love pictures. Rennlist continues to be one of, if not THE, best sources of good information about these sometimes misunderstood cars.

Sweet. Looks like its lowered - and Tastefully at that. Get some H4s for those headlamp squirters. A very pleasant color in my opinion. Sport seats???

Very nice. I have a new Carrera S but my pride and joy is my '83 SC not quite as delivered from the factory but quick and a blast to drive hard. Enjoy your ride it looks great.... and welcome to the world of "real" Porsche.

Thanks all! Whalebird, yes the car is lowered and I thought that was a plus! The seats in it are stock all the way around. Dark blue interior also.
H4's are without question on the shopping list as well as a few other items.
Do most guys order parts through Pelican? What are some of the other catalogs that would be good to order for the SC's? Wondering about quality vs pricing of the vendors.

Ah..nice pictures.
It looks like you have the "motorcycle" H-4s. You won't notice much more light if you go with the Euro Hella H-4s, but they look nicer than the sugar scoops to some eyes (mine included). If you do go with the Euro style, then don't forget to order the trim rings, which are separate.
Pelican is great. If you need a lot of one-on-one telephone help, then you might try Strasse. You can find pretty much all of the parts guys in Excellence Magazine, which you can subscribe to on Amazon.com and save a ton of dough. I found that Autohausaz is very price competitive, but truthfully I have bought parts at a great price even at my local parts house. So you need to keep shopping around to get the most honest deal.
