FWIW,..the '74 Carrera had a 2.7, not the 3.0 and were FAR more responsive.

These were smog-free, light cars made in very limited numbers.

What an "old dog". I grin like a monkey looking at that car. I had a customer with a '74 that had a 2.8 RSR spec engine with Webers, twin ignition, SSI, modified factory sport muffler and that car would absolutuly sing. It had to run on race fuel, but was otherwise stock and original (paint, wheels/tires, interior) and showed it's age a bit. It was a superb "sleeper" and bruttaly fast at the track. I still contend that these 2.7 cars are yet to have their day-but it's coming. With all those 3.0 motors floating around, a "middie" can be the most bang for the buck in the escalating 911 market and offer remarkable performance.

I have a friend with a Euro 3.o . It is a very nice car, but not a 74. I have only seen a couple of real euro 2.7 cars, but never had the honor of experiencing one from the inside.

I was under the impression that the US spec 74 Carrera had CIS, and was not the same as the RS engine version.

You are correct, Sir. They did indeed come with CIS but that issue is easily corrected to make it a fun ride.

Euro versions has the 911/83, 2.7 210HP, RS engine.
