I'd buy this car over an equal example BECAUSE of the color. I've always liked brown as a color for classic 911s, and Porsche made so many interesting shades of brown.

Anyway, it sounds like you're keeping it...so enjoy it!

that is what is unique about our generation of cars .. silver is actually a RARE colour .. got myself into trouble the other day when someone asked someone else what colour there car was I of course jumped in before he could provide and answer and said " lease colour "

Hi Chris,
I sold my 79 Targa in 96 because of a move and regretted it for 10 years. I would be hard pressed to sell a wedding gift from my Dad. You and your wife look happy. My $.02-keep making memories! BTW, I think the cork interior looks best with your color paint.

Mocha is gorgous. Other browns, especially the metallic varients are not as desirable. IMHO, mettalics do not look good on 911s. The curvey contours are brought out in pastels. metallics look better on angular/square cars. Mocha cues the pallet and gives a 911 a lucious, liquid "flavor". Like the "jordan almond" colors on the early cars (and 993s) - it's real eye candy.

Hey thirdgen...nice too see you over here in aircooled land. I have to say too the other posters here, thirdgenbird is one of FEW, very FEW, that I enjoy from the 944 board. His 924S is the poster-child for my car and I would consider the "Ruby" of the water-cooled board. His instincts and "taste" are superlative.
If you have any interest, search out the pics of his 924, it's a pretty car.

I'm one for the Brown group; your Targa looks great in Mocha

It takes the right buyer for the more oddball colors. The right buyer will pay up. It just may take more time to find him. Good looking SC, BTW. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd buy it for my second or third 911.

First...keep the car. Definitely keep the car.

Color...I like it. A little like my Moss Green, it looks like a color that will "change" with the lighting...I've had people tell me they thought my car was black until the sun hit it just right. And it's a great color with your interior.

And like others have said, I'm an oddball in that I like unusual colors that people don't see every day.

And if you go tail, I'd do a duck...just seems right on a targa.

I'm seeing the color again on several models. I guess everything is cyclical and comes back in style if you hold it long enough. I recalled this thread from Pelican.
