Did you ever try to remove this stuff. I had an '84 944 that had the protective pieces behind the wheels and in front of the rear wheel well. They were old and deteriorating and I purchased new ones. The plastic comes off fairly easily, but as the glue gets old, IT WILL NOT LET GO OF THE CAR. I tried several commercial glue removers given to me by body men and eventaully ended up just forcibly rubbing the glue off with my fingers. It would roll up into itself with a lot of encouragement and sore thumbs. They eventually came off but not without a lot of pushing and a few choice swear words along the way. Hopefully you won't have to do this with the entire front end....But what if you do get the "God Forbid" fenderbender???? What then? I think an occasional paint touchup would be more logical.

If it is the original factory paint then all you'll need to remove the film is decent skill, a heat gun, some patience, and more patience. One has to just start from one corner and begin peeling / pulling towards your body (Personally I would take it to an installer). If the film was applied to aftermarket paint one has to be careful because if it was a poorly prepped/primed paint job, then then there is a good chance that the paint will lift.

XPEL, I do have a question for you. Is your adhesive stronger than other paint protection films ? I saw a XPEl'd car the other day. I was very impressed with the texture (or lack thereof) and clarity of your film.

In terms of ultimate strength it's about the same. It bonds slower so the film is easier to apply without installation defects, but once it is dry it is pretty much the same adhesion level.

Go with a certified installer and please wait for a few weeks for the paint to cure. If I am not mistaken, one has to wait for 4 to 6 weeks. Check out the installer's recent work and see if that is satisfactory to you.

I just thought to check here first to get real feedback on services.
But the guy I found has great reviews, lots of pictures and the price is fair.
Once I have received my car and had it serviced, I will f/u with a review post.
Not listing the shop name because I don't know if its allowed to post on the forum.
