I would think that if you put aside $2000 per year you will be in fine shape. That would be worse case, assuming that everything had been kept up on the car that you locate and purchase. If the previous owner let things go you might have a surprise.

Brakes and their fluids are cheap and a no brainer.

Tranny fluids and engine oil is also a no brainer.

Valve adjustments can be learned with the aid of another Rennlister near you. Have them demo it to you a couple of times and you will be good to go.

Clutches--just be easy on the car.

Tires--are consumed more if you fall into the autocross/track route.

These cars (in that era) are quite solidly built with little that can go awry.
