Shoot sorry didn't see the post. Not sure how I'd change it to a SWB? Those are TRE Motorsport 911R fenders. Little annoyed that I need to do some glass work on the fenders. The shape in front isn't what it should be so…. meh.

Little by little……

Took two days off so I'm going to get some time on the car.

Redridge, this is the final look I'm going for…

A yellow toad, I love it.

Wait...it kinda looks like that 3D dinosaur optical illusion thing.

it's almost like you're missing a couple links Doug...... LOL

Anyhoo, I found a thread on Pelican on how to remove the rear bearings.

Woke up, made some coffee then bought my shade tree bearing puller from Home Depot. Cost around $30 and bearings removed without a hitch....
Took the banana arms and control off to the powder coaters, only to have them tell me they needed the grease off.... Fudge.

Two cans of brake cleaner and the grease is off and the parts will be at the power coaters Monday....

Is your powder coater going to do any media blasting or other surface prep? I've only ever taken in race bikes and all my customers that run powder coating equipment are coating brand spanking new steel parts. I think I see rust and cosmoline, so I'm curious.

Yes they are going to blast it. He didn't want the bearing grease on the pieces because they reuse their blasting media.

I bet half that money went to blasting and prep. They look great.

So since the last post here, I was all excited to order parts from Rebel Racing. There’s been some sort of miscommunication but I’m going to refrain from discussing this issue here for the time being. However my suspension build is currently at a standstill…..

Anyhoo, a week or so ago we (my Dad and girls) ended up driving to Santa Monica to pick up a 68 VW Bus that my Dad has been wanting for quite some time (how long? Who knows but he wanted a bus to drive to the beach in the summer, so we now have a 68 bus sitting in the driveway…..) What a blast to drive! No power, stinks of fuel, handles like a shopping cart with 4 cases of water in it. But the kids love it and in all honesty, it makes driving slow fun again…

The parking brake didn’t work, the brake lights, turn signals and rear lights didn’t work either so I went through the electrical and fixed it all up….. Changed out the seals on the rear lights and ended up ordering new front seat upholstery, mirrors, seatbelts and other misc items.

After getting all the legal roadworthy items fixed, I find out the ignition switch was on it’s last legs. So I’ve ordered a new switch.

Today after the soccer games I plasti-dipped the top of the dash. But had to stop work on the bus since I received some goodies from Pelican.

Part 2 of today!

So the Pelican van showed up with four sweet sweet boxes of goodness today!
Rotors, front bearings, rear bearings (in the freezer now!) hand brake boot, turbo tie rods, and other items!

Decided to get the tie rods changed out…. Apparently a 1 and a ½ beer job.

I count 3 beers, unless 1 made it's way to that sweet looking bench.

It was HONESTLY 1 & 1/2. I took the photo on the counter, then thought, "Heck I should just put them on".

Today I worked on some more sheet metal migraines and then fitted the rear bearings into the trailing arms. My boy helped me out on that.
