Who do you use to insure your 911?

When we switched to Allstate a few years ago we were going to cover all 3 cars under Allstate, however our agent said we would be better off putting the 911 under Haggerty. Haggerty is ~ $600 a year while an Allstate agent today quoted $525 for 6 months. She was going to e-mail us the paperwork/proof of insurance until she discovered that Allstate no longer covers our 911. Not sure if it all 911's or just certain years.

We had to get an appraisal done to get an Agreed Value policy, but we transferred our '82 SC from Leland West to our regular Travelers policy. They have it listed as an "extra" car, we can drive it 5K miles/year, my wife can drive it to work (which she loves), and we can even use it to go out to dinner. All for only about $100/year more than LW was charging us for a policy that wouldn't permit the drive to work, only 3K miles/year, and other restrictions that no longer fit our lifestyle.
We love Travelers, had to give them our house as well, but we've never paid less for top quality coverage.

USAA for life, house, and all the cars. Over 20 years of insurance, a few accidents (never my fault, IIRC), and I've never been disappointed. I'm paying $390 per year for full coverage on the 911 and about $475 per year for the 2010 Cayman, all in a metropolitan area.
Also, I had a "stated value" on a highly modified Audi years ago. They just told me to keep receipts and things. I just had to pay slightly more for the comprehensive premium. I never made a claim on that one so I can't say how it would have panned out.

What about a track only car.
I just swapped my 911 for a 1975 911 RSR track car.
Want to insure for storage and transport.
I have USAA for all other vehicles.

I had my Carrera insured for years by Allstate before switching to Hagerty. Are you sure Allstate won't cover you? Maybe it's worth checking with another broker, or Allstate directly, if you haven't done so already.

Update: we got coverage by Allstate afterall. When the wife called she called an 800 number to get a quote, at first they gave us a quote but then said they could not cover the car because of the new list. Then yesterday, Saturday, our actual agent called and said the list was for new customers with a certain "insurance rating". So we got coverage afterall.

We are very happy with Haggerty, the only problem is the limitations on use. Car has to be a third car and can not be used to drive to work. While ours is primarily a weekend car I would occasionally drive it to work on Fridays. With it becoming a daily driver until we figure out what we are doing with the wife's wrecked Volvo, do not want to risk it with both of us having a ~50 mile daily commute.

I have 3 porsches on Hagerty for just under $1k/year. This is about 33% less than my standard insurer (ERIE) was charging. For this, I gain stated value on all cars but give up driving freedom to a degree. Their guidelines for usage are vague and state the car has to be used for "collector" purposes.....not driven to work or errands, regularly.... etc. I talked to my lawyer about it and she said its written like this on purpose to allow them wiggle room when reviewing a particular case. J figure, to be sure you are covered, you need to stick to a strict interpretation of the guidlines. I also pressed the insurance rep on "what if" scenarios....like if I take the car on vacation and park it in a hotel parking lot overnight. Or, if you stop by the office on your way to the mechanic.... He hinted that one would still be covered in these grey areas but that the company could decide to drop you after having to paying a claim when they suspect you may not be using the car as THEY think you should.
I would love to hear from someone who has had a claim with Hagery or Leland, or one of the other collector car insurers and hear how strict they are when a claim happens.
Anyone out there?

FWIW. I called USAA about an 'agreed value' policy for my 911. They immediately referred me to American Collector. I'm a hugh USAA fan; they have our four cars for two people, and I have been with them since dinos walked the earth, but they didn't want 'agreed value'. I would be surprised if anyone here touting the company has it.

I went with Hagerty -- $48K for essentially PS&T, a tad over $600/yr.
