Default Bruce Anderson 911 classes in 2012?

Does anybody know if Bruce Anderson will offer his 911 classes in 2012?

I checked his website and don't see anything about classes after 2009. I also e-mailed him but have not heard back yet. I'm asking because I will be visiting CA from VT this winter and would like to attend.

I think that after his heart attack a few years ago, they quieted down. How long ago did you email? That may be an indicator.

I emailed him months ago and he replied that there are no plans to offer the class in the future. He cited health reasons.

I contacted him almost two years ago and he just told me that his web site was the best place to stay up to date on any schedules. There hasn't been any new classes posted since I've been watching. I suspect that Ed's right on the money that due to health concerns, he's backed away from a lot of his 'distractions' and is focusing on more important things to him, right now.

I wish Bruce the best going forward and hope he will offer his class again. However, the vast number of new generation Porsches in the market possibly means his class may have less draw than it once did. Most air cooled cars are in the hands of educated caregivers now.
There are other good sources out there in print and media, but hands-on may take some sweet talking a shop owner/tech.

OK, I guess I'll start some classes to fill the gap. First thing I do is hire Steve Weiner.

Ed,

I e-mailed Bruce a couple of weeks ago.

"Avocadoland" sounds like Southern CA, is that right?

That is correct, I'm in N San Diego County, 1/2 mile from the last stop light before hitting the twisties, and Palomar Mountain.

I think it would be a great idea for someone to start these lessons for the air-cooled crowd. Flat 6 does the water-cooled thing....

I have no experience with these guys, but I'm considering giving them a go.

They're up here on the Canadian west coast (Vancouver, BC) so that might deter some of you folks in the US.

I took the course from Jakobs as well as Bruce/Gerry, and Gerry's course was quite a bit better - but it was the first time Jakobs ran it.

The Bruce/Gerry course was much more intensitve, 4 full days, while Jakobs was about 6 evenings.

Cheers,

Mike

That's because he has it focused on 993's! There's already a lot of technical info on 911's elsewhere-993's, not so much. Give Mike a break, it isn't a website on "How to Fix Your Porsche".
