If the car needs $10K+ I would pass. I am sure it needs more than that if you dug into it a little more. What is the plan for this car?

I think Punting here is the thing to do.

What are you looking for? I know some great local 3.0/3.2's for sale in the area.

First choice: 87-89 911 any: best for the price
Second: 82-86 911sc/carrera: best for the price

Good operating condition and not needing a lot of work.

Finders fee is a kick in the pants!

Owner finally responded......and boy is he PISSED! Says the mechanic is a fraud! Guess that shows his colors! Told him to contact the PPI guy and duke it out. Meanwhile back on the ranch, I've moved on. PPI tomorrow in Cali on a 87 911 Cab and a pristine 911SC 83' that I've been chasing for 8 months has finally, I think made his owner come to the conclusion that a nice Maine home is just what his car has ordered! It's getting interesting!

What's wrong with these sellers? PPI IN Cali found to need $5k in repairs BEFORE putting the car on the lift and doing any engine testing! Stopped him in his tracks! Can anyone be honest???

First guy in Florida sends me a detailed email refuting EVERYTHING the mechanic said about his car. And of course, no price reduction.
