Was thinking of doing the same, and not driving on it. Actually amazed it worked for you.

If I come across a good spare, then I'll buy it at a flea market.

I ran over a piece of angle iron on I-580 just outside of Pleasonton, east of San Francisco. Blew out the left rear, which was smoking by the time I noticed. Those Z rated tires have stiff sidewalls!! The twenty-some odd spare worked like a champ. I was able to drive to Walmart, which had the right size tire in stock, only H rated. I bought it, completed my trip to San Francisco, and drove home with no drama. I strongly believe in the spare tire, which requires an air pump, not Fix a Flat. I don't know if that stuff does anything to the wheel, but I would not leave it in the tire for an extended period of time.

I did the same last year....same result. I think it is still usable although 45mph might be my top speed.

Rusnak - thanks for the compressor pic - guess I'm scouring EBay for an 'Autobahn' compressor in a white case.....what we do for a few points on a judging sheet.......
