Records & Receipts
I hate paperwork, filing and record keeping; I like laptops, thumb drives, scanners and electronic files. Except when it comes to my vehicles; I like to have the actual hard copy car and bike receipts, packing slips, promotional literature, instructions, installation tips and parts lists all together. I try, anyhow.
My '87 Carrera came with a bulging file folder full of records, brochures and receipts of every type and kind. Records were not a must-have for me to buy the car but it's always encouraging to see POs cared enough about a vehicle to document the service history. The was enough stuff to fill a couple of folders so I sewed a piece of clear acetate on the flap of an old file-folder carrycase, slid in a Porsche logo+car photos it looks pretty whippy. Now it's all in order and there's room for another 25-years of receipts. I would call records a selling point and organized records something to get a buyer in the comfort zone..
Are you a record keeper?

I am indeed.
Except all of my receipts are stuffed into an old paper folder. I don't have anything quite as spiffy as your handy dandy bag with the fancy cover. LOL.
Need to find something better.
Oh, and I also track everything on a spreadsheet as well. Hit the SUM button the other day. That was a mistake. Won't do that again...

I always keep records as best I can. For those of you who do your own work here is a template i created I fill one out every time I do any work. I have a binder of them for each of my cars. Feel free to use it I really like it.

I like having the records in a binder that I can look at quickly in the garage. I bought a cheap 3 ring binder from Staples, that just so happens to match the color of the car, sort of
Anyways, on some standard lined paper I make the following columns, Date; Miles, Work Performed, Where, $.
So an oil change entry would read Dec 2, 2011 142,218 Oil Change (oil used and filter) At home, $62.
I put this and receipts in standard page protectors to keep everything neat/oil/grease free. I got the idea from going on E-bay and noticed a few Ferrari owners keeping their records in the same fashion.
I don't save receipts for oil or filters, just actual parts.
