$250 for a PPI?

A shop quoted me 250 for a ppi. This is just an inspection/test drive. No compression or leak down test. It's for a 3.0 SC motor hot rod 911. Is this price standard ? It's in the LA area

That sounds a little high. When I had mine done I paid ~$300 and had a leakdown. Maybe for LA it is average, mine was done in Denver.

That's a fair price. You would be hard pressed to get a better price. Called a shop in the LA area a few weeks ago, they flat out declined to help "too busy with our regular clients, sorry".
