Default 911/53

Can someone please clarify the 911/53 case type. I thought it represented 72 S. But am now seeing otherwise.

A quick Google shows it as a '73 911S.

The Type 911/53 motor was found in the 1972 and 1973 911S. This is a 2341cc motor that Porsche graciously designated as a 2.4L motor. Factory rated the engine at 190HP. 6 cylinder boxer motor that featured Bosch mechanical fuel injection.

I have this motor in my 1973 racecar. It's a WONDERFUL motor when it stays above 5000 RPM.
