I saw an orange beauty yesterday sitting at a light, which was perpendicular to me in the intersection. It took me a while to figure out what is was, but then it hit me, it was a 918! What a gorgeous car in person, stunning. As an old skool car guy, I put my window down to hear the car roar by me. I didn't hear a dam thing! Whispered by like a meek prius, such a buzz kill!! Certain cars should be all engine, not electric or hybrids. Destroys the true essence and nature of a sports car. I'm sure my air cooled brothers agree!

There are a few good driving videos on you tube if the 918 on the track. Sounds nasty. I actually just watched a video in the house a few min ago with the British guy named Chris something. That test drive video is cool. Can't wait to see one in person.

Stealth mode... The driver could have set it is 'Sport' and I guarantee you, you would notice it. If set in 'Race' mode it would have been like the old NA F1 cars. The 918 has 2 personalities and it is well done.

BTW... the current turbo F1 cars sound like a lawn mower.

I'm sure it was some mode like that, but If I owned the car, I would never stealth it. I have 3 modes of exhaust notes / sport settings in my Maserati, and she's always in sport manual.
There is actually a new Formula series, that is 100% electric. Launched by manufacturers to give electric cars a "cooler" appeal.

$800k USD, not CDN (kidding).

I say if The Torch tries to collect $1.2M on this car, the insurance company may not be well pleased.

He used a squeege to do what? Did he spill gas on the "hood" and try to clean it?

He squeegeed from the bottom up after spilling gas and touched the squeegee on the exhaust pipe.
Chemistry 101. Fuel sits on top of water. Poof.

And I thought everyone wiped top to bottom !!!

The 918 breaks new ground for a street Porsche hot rod (hybrid at that). It will demand your full time knowledge of how everything in this car is laid out, taming the power when at the helm, and little things like how to properly fuel it.
Having the pleasure of only ascertively drivin the 918 on a closed course for 20 minutes with a factory instructor, the words he kept drilling into me were "Trust it"...and the 918 rewarded me with an awesome track experience.
When my friend takes his delivery next March (#79), we will be going through all of the manuals and specs. No gas station problems expected.

Looks like a speeding ticket pic to me.
