Default Barrett Jackson Show Stopper

As most probably know, Barrett Jackson Northeast was this past weekend, at Mohegan Sun casino. Thankfully I live 15min from the place so I dont have to make a serious trek.

Anywho, I was drooling over this thing for about an hour in the tent. Shortly after, it hit the block and sold for 35k no reserve. These cars were being stolen this weekend guys...

'77 S, with 70k (if I remeber correctly). Sienna Metallic with Cork. The repaint was extremely well done, and such a gorgeous color in person.

74-75 bring more money than 76-77. If that was a 74 it might have brought $10k more.

Really? Well, it's presentation had me well under the impression that I would have gotten more. When I used the world "stealing" I was referring many cars that were there. This '77 however, really was a stunning car in person, well in my opinion anyway.

I'm fairly new to these cars, but I check the market and examples pretty often, and I would have been prepared to go a bit higher with this guy, had I actually been bidding. I just really liked it I guess, haha.

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being concourse, and I'm clearly not a judge), I would say it was a strong 7, maybe 7 1/2. I could tell it had been repainted, but only because of the condition of the paint in the engine bay. But they got it done right, and I consider my eye for paint pretty good.

From realized auction sale prices (as chronicled in Victory Lane), it's been clear that's been the case for the past two years, caveat the truly rare and stratospheric.

It's a good looking car but it's made to look like a 74 Carrera. In the auction world originality reigns supreme.

Front spoiler looks like a piece of Lasagna - would make me wonder about the rest of the work.

plain jane 77S.

Made to look like a 74-77 Carrera.

Clean looking car but a little rich for what it actually is.
