Short Shift Kit Recomendations for 87 930
Looking for some advice on which SSK's are worth installing. I want to try to get closer to feel of a 997 shift and hopefully I can get some input on which brands to order.

930 short shift
I went with the JWest Engineering RennSport kit. It has more adjustability and does not re-use stock parts. Love the build quality and with the extended handle puts the **** closer to you and the steering wheel. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...oaAs9iEALw_wcB

Dave - Love the AJR Console! Have that in (out right now) my 930 as well!

Have you considered sourcing the factory M241 parts? From memory, there is a ~20% reduction in travel.
If not mistaken, there are only a handful of parts involved, all located within the shifter linkage in the cabin...a dowel pin, a small block, a couple springs, a buffer plate, and a guide. If we're lucky, someone with an M241-equipped 4-speed will chime in with first hand experience.

I have this Wevo kit. Shifts are short and precise and this thing looks pretty cool.

Thanks - I removed it and had a new backplate fabricated (aluminum) for the clock and the AFR gauge with the A/C controls. The original version had the A/C controls and a cassette tape holder and an ash tray... :-)

I have one of the cheaper SSK in my 86, my Porsche mechanic told me that from his many years of experience that the inexpensive kits work just fine as long as it is set up correctly. I have had it for close to 10 years, the only issue I had with it is that the shifter was a bit short(or the bend needed to be greater) making it a bit of a reach for third. I ended up getting an extension piece from a fellow Rennlister and it resolved the issue.
