I thought you guys would appreciate my RGruppe hot rod. I drove the car from Portland Oregon down to Santa Rosa for the annual RGruppe gathering. Nobody paid any attention to the car until they had the opportunity to be on the road near it. The whistle that the turbo makes is fantastic. The old schoolers all said it sounded just like a 934. I drag raced the big 3.8ltr hot rods and the cars are well matched. The 3.8 would pull ahead and then the little 3.0ltr would spool up and catch up and then they were even, at the next shift it was the same thing all over again. My car is a 72 911 with RS flares, 7, 8 x 15 with 225x50x15's, light weight interior, 3.3 turbo brakes, 915 with factory LSD, 3.0ltr K27-1100, SC cams, 3.3 euro exhaust, 2,260lbs.

Thanks for the comments.
The engine was rebuilt about 35,000 ago and runs very well with no oil leaks. I am running 22/28 torsion bars, factory through the body 18mm sway up front with an 18 rear. The front bilstiens have had the spindles raised 19mm, the rear are bilstien sports. The car is very unstable at speeds in excess of 120mph, especially on decel. I don't want to run a tail so I am going to have to dial in the suspension with coil overs. I also am having a set of special offset 8x15 made to accomodate 245x50x15's on the rear. As far adding an intercooler, I have a few ideas on fitment, but I am not in any hurry. The car is plenty fast at .8 bar and if left alone I can survive without the intercooler, but give me a few months to get used to wrestling the beast and I will probably want to turn the ****. When the time comes I will squeeze the intercooler under the lid. If anyone has pictures of an intercooler install on a non-tail car I would love to see them. The other thing I am looking for is a factory boost **** controller like what was in the 935. Thanks, Barrett

Cool car! How did you get the weight so low with the turbo engine?

www.BellIntercoolers.com have tons of core sizes. You can design something that'll fit under the hood and they'll make it at a reasonable cost. Even if it's pretty small, it'll still help.
