I have some nice stuff planned for the CIS that has been proven & yet not commonly used. Starts with the Imagine Auto fuel head, and goes to the tuneable WUR - as well am MSD solenoid controlled portion of the WUR to control the mid-rpm (3-4k rpm) full boost richness.

Poor man's EFI? (That's pushing it, but you get the point)

STAY TUNED!

Am I psyched? You bet!

Check out the progress. Kevin will be bringing the turbo to Monty soon - and then she is DONE!

Soon, this will be filled:

With this!

P.S. Here is a good picture of what a rocker looks like which is deprived of lube. 4 flat spots

Maybe it doesn't matter, but my Rennline RSR engine hanger went on the other side (outside) of the consol. Just thought I'd mention it in case there are gotchas as you try to align it with your engine mounts.

Good eye sand_man. Mine was on the other side as well.

One other tip, RSRS: leave the engine hanger slightly loose. It can really help with alignement on the engine compartment mounts as you install the engine. One you've got the engine mount bolts started into the hanger, then snug up the hanger to the consol.

All apologies if you already knew this...

I noticed the odd mount location too; I think the reason for this is that Craig's engine is mounted rearward of the stock location, maybe because of its G-50 transmission.

The rocker with flat facets is interesting. But I've seen it on a couple of other engines in past decades, so it must not be that uncommon. I'm sure you're hoping never to see it again.

Lookin' good Craig. Hope to see you on the track soon.

Right back at ya, Rob - we should both be on track for the first time at about the *same* time.
Monty wants a 1,000 mile break-in, plus I need to check AFRs etc to make sure it is ready for track use.

I never, ever want anything like this to happen again!
#1, I can't afford to, #2, I've been without a track car for almost 3 months.

With some expert help from Brian Leask, I intend to preform some slick modifications to the CIS.
This should really put the 930 into the dafest possible survival mode, give it better fuel mileage, and increase engine life considerably -

Next week I should have some updates.

I'd strongly suggest a bracket at the turbine housing...

If that weld opens back up you will lose a turbine wheel.. As the header cools off, metal is/will be displaced. It will find and eat your turbine wheel up..

I agree! I took my stock bracket and slotted the two holes that attach to the engine hanging consol.

It's not difficult.. People spend all the time and money going to the plating and powder coater. And forget/don't bother installing it. You can cut a kurf at the original angle and bend it to fit, then weld it back up.. 20 minute job MAX..

Here is what a very expensive turbine wheel looks like when bombarded by shrapnel:
