Diabolos - based on all of the crap that your user name seems to be affiliated with on the "interweb", the only reason I think it's possible you have this car, is that you've actually *PAID* for a Rennlist subscription (Rennlist Member). I guess a typical internet joker wouldn't bother.

But why is it that you need the help of so many others (users, business owners, etc.) to prove that you own this car? Please don't misunderstand my tone, I'm asking sincerely...not trying to be a smart azz. Is it that you only have access to the car?

Guys leave it alone, why should it matter to us? I deal with people on this list with whom I am comfortable, I really don't care if he owns the car or not, I just don't care about anything this person has to add.

Gentlemen,
Welcome to the wackie, wonderful world of the internet. In this blog happy society, I think we have been burned by a poser. I think that's why it got so personal. At first, everyone took diablos88 in as one of us; a fellow owner, fanatic of the marque. He just got sloppy(greedy). His posts on both Pelican and Rennlist are inconsistent.
I hope these sites don't meet the same fate as the "911turbo.com" forum. So many posers and whack jobs......what a train wreck!
Diablos88, I wish you well. Good one, you got the better of us for a while. Now, let it go. Go find higher mountains to climb. Before you go, one last question; "What the hell did you prove?"

Default My last post on this thread...I hope!

I hate the direction this thread took. I apologize to you all that I didn't step off sooner - I didn't let it go when I should have, and that's NOT typical of me! I hate the way this thread made me feel. I added to this train wreck! A few simple mantras of mine: "Mean people suck", "Turn the other cheek", and "People ain't no good". And yet here I was, behaving as a sh!tty high-schooler on a witch hunt!!! I feel ashamed! I feel that my intelligence (what little I have) has been insulted

To you Diabolos88, I hope you own the car. I hope you sell the car. And I hope you've learned a lesson. I want(ed) to believe you. However, it no longer matters to me. Regardless, you have burned your bridge with this group of guys and gals even if you can prove it. You've revealed yourself (whether you intended to or not) to be a charlatan. Your lies caught up with you. You have cried "wolf" too many times on too many other boards, and now, even if what you say is true, you've been called out into question! Your word is now ****!

sand_man, out

this post is very hard (emotionally) to read. i have not posted much on rennlist, but from what i see, it is a great board and a very rare one at that. i hate to see this get between us.

i think it would be terrible for diabolos to invent the story about his ex-wife/daughter to prove a point or continue a disguise, however i would feel worse if this were true and we were all denying it.

it would be sad to see someone who is a phony called out in this manner and continueing to defend their disguise, but it would be tragic if they weren't a phony.

there are a lot of seemingly valid claims against diabolos, but i am giving him the benefit of the doubt. maybe it's because i'm the son of two defense lawyers, or maybe i can't understand why someone would create such a false identity.

diabolos - i understand that you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. if you don't confront these accusations, people will think you are lying, but when you respond to most comments - even those of people who appear to be trying to help you - with a seemingly very defensive attitude it tends to put people off. i think it would serve the board better to have everyone take a deep breath and allow diabolos to defend himself in a calm manner.

if he is able to, great. if not, that would be truly unfortunate.

either way, i hope this is resolved, as it is truly eating away at me and i feel that it could have quite large repurcussions.

regards,
charlie

......And that is why I offered to have him take digital pics of his car email them to me and I will host them and post them on here.

Seems pretty simple and the best way to authenticate what is true and what is not. In the end the truth always prevails.
