930 to 965 look
I really like the look of the 965 with splitters and it cleans up the car considerably by removing the impact bumpers. Has anyone done this with OEM parts? I really don't want to use fiberglass on the bumpers.

I decided to weld up my front and rear bumper to make them a little cleaner, lost all the trim...Also lost the two front parking lights. It looks sort of 965 ish, only with the original beauty still maintained...well sort of. You could also replace the heavy original bumper shocks with aluminum crush sleeves and save some weight at the same time.

I was about to chime in and say don’t do it.
But after looking at LeonardZ’s bumpers, I have to say that looks nice
Kept the original lines yet made it look more aggressive!!

I talked to a fiberglass guy about his one piece fiberglass 964 bumper and asked him about using a real 964 bumper. He said that they come in three pieces and weigh a lot more than the original one piece 930 bumper. He said it would be a lot more fabricating to fit it to a 930 than the after market pieces that come with their own mounting steel to fit your car as it exists now. The real 964 bumpers were never intended to fit a 930 so none of the mounting hardware lines up. If you look at a clean 964 you will see how a 930 will look with the bumper fitted. The tail light will work as will the two quarter panels. I do think it cleans up the 930 and if you keep the OEM one then you have the best of both worlds. Nathan what kind of mounting pieces did you use on your car?

Thanks Rod,
I was a little apprehensive as I welded up the holes on each bumper I thought about the fiberglass as well, there are a lot of nice pieces out there.

LeonardZ, here is what I have on the front of mine
Jury is still out on if I like it or not, even the PO wasn't sure!
It will be a mod down the road to replace it with something more inline with your
front setup! Just gotta make sure I can keep the front center OC!

The oil cooler is in the center opening, sorry to ding the car but I am not a fan of that style bumper cover. The bumper to body smile does not go all the way to the fender either, otherwise a great looking car in the best color.

My 930 has the 964 smile/trim. You could photoshop your picture to see how it would look. I think it would look great.

Rudy,
I bought my car already done. I have removed the rear bumper and it is held on with one straight piece of 1" wide flat metal. It is centrally welded to the back of the car by another piece of the same metal. It doesn't look good at all.
Of course it looks great when it is fitted. I also have the 964 rear lights.
The sides of the bumpers seem to hang from the wings/fenders of the car.
