Nice build, car is going to be amazing. Reminds me of everything I've been going through in the past 4 years, lol.

Trial fitment of the mirrors and lights before painting...the light housings will be black with xenon HID setup in the housing.

Shouldn't the mirrors be mounted on the front vent windows? The flat mounting surface seems at odds against the contours of the door(s).

BTW, this thing is ridiculous.

Good for you.

Thanks for the kind words I'm glad you dig the project

The mirror setup is something I thought very hard about but to stay true to the factory in all areas but the tail setup, I was going to get 935 style mirrors that would have gone on the quarter window however....

In the early stages of the 935 and all 934's, Porsche used the Vitalioni Sebring mirrors mounted oddly on the door and sometimes the front fender (flat a la 550 spyder). While the flat mounting bottom of the mirror contrasted with the shapely door does present an interesting arrangement...it was done back in the 70's as it seems the mirrors were laying around and were areo grade race parts.

Below you can see the beauty that is the early body work of the 935/76 before Silverstone, note the mirror setup With the spacers to the body painted white it makes it look a bit more finished & raised up but on the backside of the mirror it has the same flat bottom that doesn't match the contour.

I stand corrected. You know, I had never noticed that before. Thanks for pointing out that detail.

I really can appreciate you striving for something period correct. I took a similar approach when I refinished my car.

I guess the world needs more guys like us...

MKLASKIN: You're correct on your last point for sure...if you can PM with a link to some more pics of your car - it looks positively wonderful, especially with the tail setup.

Gabe, I wanna see photos at night! As usual the progress looks fantastic. Do they have an eta for it running under it's own power?

The fuel system just got finished with its dual fuel pumps, the oil cooling system is next and we're having some custom coolers fabbed up for her. Right now the RSR suspension install is next along with the braking system.

Mike: She'll be running on her own power before the 20th of November. I arrive in LAX on the 24th to get my brief on everything and then start the trip.

Pete: Sounds good brother, we'll have the dates set in stone here in a bit once we get on the way to Houston. Just pray for good weather.
