Put a 8:41 R&P in. You'd be surprised how much wear and tear is saved by not having to feather the clutch from a dead stop.

Well I found a couple more leaks, the turbo oil line is leaking it was brand new when i installed it on the engine but was a little short. so the tension where the hard line connects to the hose leaks. So I would like to replace it with a stainless steel braided line. Does any one here know where i can get one and what the size of the banjoe fitting on the one end and the fitting on the other end?

No info off the top of my head. Do you have anything to measure it? You'll probably end up making your own.

You could cut the steel crimps off the ends of the rubber hose section, measure the length you need, take it to a hydraulic hose supply store and get a longer section of hose installed on it with new steel crimps.
There are alot of brands of high temp/pressure oil tolerant hose that will work there.
Or put the new hose on yourself with 2 good hose clamps on each end.
There is room on the steel barbed sections for 2 hoseclamps next to each other and it can only help avoid a possible oil leak.

Other than that I think Vertex would have a new one.

Thanks..I got the old one at vertex and the rubber portion was a little short. I'll either take it a hydraulic supply place or get some swageloc flex tubing. we have plenty of that around here.

Well i replaced the turbo oil line with some swageloc welded braided ss tubing. replaced the gasket on the oil breather. I used that hylomar I really like it, trouble is I think I got the last tube of it permatex has stopped selling it and i need another tube to finish. I retorqued the head bolts while the valve covers were off for the valve adjustment. I got one full turn on several of the nuts. I welded up all the holes in the engine tins that were left over when I tossed all the smog stuff. there were one inch holes in each side from the smog pump lines and the whole area filled with mud and dirt from not bieng closed up. Pulled the fan and alternator for a repaint. Went with silver and red this time instead of silver and black. Hoping i'll be done weekend after Christmas.

Keep us updated.

I've got to swap out my alternator and get my fan powder coated. I went with red last but am thinking a jet hot silver this time.

my fan was silver before also, but most of the paint had come off. so I repainted it with engine paint then baked it. I changed the shroud from black to red. and added one of those rennline stainless steel straps. looks pretty good.

FWIW we always used to use Hylomar as the sealant on racing gearboxes when I turned wrenches on formula cars (FF1600, FF2000, and FA). We'd do two to three gear changes a day and never had any reseal problems. It'd clean up really easily and apply very easily as well.

Nice to know I can get it at Harbor.
