Let me help you out ........ it's not a trick question, I promise !

Post #1 listed all available "special order" colors for '76

Post #3 shows a photo of a '76 Turbo Carrera in one of those six(6) optional colors.

My question is ........ How-tha-fock did you come up with Signal Green ?

You don't do well on game shows, do you ? ....

Next !

Baron,

Good luck with your search, I think solid unmolested early 930's are great cars and only going to appreciate in the future. How many original '76 Turbo's do you think are around, let alone in a rear cool period color? Seems they rarely show up...

Tom,
I could not agree with you more, people used to give 76's away, everyone wanted an intercooled car with the big brakes, I shopped for a 76 and ended up with a 79. If baron wasn't trying to corner the market I could maybe buy one some day.

So was Slate Grey only a special order color? Any idea how many of those exist (I'm looking for one)? 1976 is 1st choice, followed by 1989, then anyhing in between...

To my knowledge, Slate Grey (one of my favorite colors as well) was only offered up until 1968.

It was not a standard or optional color after '68 but who knows ....... someone cuold have easily requested it as a P.T.S. color which would have cost extra $$$$.

Porsche just whacked me for $13,000 for my requested color on my '11
GT3RS which I've now waited a year for ! ! ! ! !

I have never seen a Slate Grey Turbo Carrera or Turbo but I have seen a Slate Grey '92 America Roadster which was a P.T.S. request.

Pictures when you find one

Steve McQueen had a slate grey (his fav color BTW) 76' turbo. you can google it. my 62' 356 is slate grey with red interior, but i am not sure when i restore it i wanna use that color, too drab IMO, but if its cool enough for steve.........

uploading pics now....
