How can you compare the prices of 2 cars without knowing the condition of the other?
An '87 930 with 80K miles can range from $20-35K, roughly. (Assuming the motor hasn't grenaded or the car isn't totaled or something surprising like that.) A turbo motor with those miles can be healthy or very tired, depending on how it was run and taken care of. A rebuild can go for Ferrari-type prices, as there's a lot of "while we're in there" stuff that most want to do.

Impossible to answer your question without a lot more info on the "white Porsche". I would sell my white '87 to any sun-baked person in CA for $30K, and that's with a little over 100,000 miles on her. It's all a crap shoot - you don't really know the condition of the car until you've owned it for awhile. But I would think that the value of your F car is probably in the mid to upper $20K's (not knowing anything about the year or miles...so I could be way off). If both the 930 and the F are in equally good condition, then the $5K + swap might be a great deal...even if that $5K (plus another $7K) had to go into a complete engine rebuild).

Three Wheelin'
As you know, a euro gray market car is worth 20-30% less than the US market cars. Your euro car, when it is well sorted is worth 26-30,000 tops. The 930, when well sorted is worth around 30-34,000.
If you agree on the trade plus the $ 5,000 difference, you are looking at $ 2,500 with enclosed transportation.
I would agree on the deal with the agreeement a PPI will be done on the 930 and passes with flying colors.
Do you even want a car that is more thrilling to drive than the 308? You will not get more looks, but the driving experence is much better.
