Thinking about buying a 2002 911 Turbo...
For about 25 years I have always had a company car. They have always been boring, dull cars to drive. The only time I have a fun car is when the company car is in the shop and I get a nice rental. Pretty soon I'm planning to finally buy myself a car. I want something that handles nice and is quick (0-60 less than 4). My budget is $40K or less. It seems like a 2002ish 911 Turbo fits the bill. In my price range I've seen them with about 75K miles.
So, am I asking for a maintenance nightmare for a turbo with 75K miles? There are other cars that I could put some mods into them and get good performance for less, but I love the looks of the 911 and would rather have that over a newer super quick ricer.
Our '05 Cayenne S has not been exactly the world's most reliable vehicle, so I worry about reliability a bit. I'm pretty good at doing my own repairs and would say my mechanical skills are good.
