Nope, just don't like GrandAm racing and it's NASCAR-like spec rules. The season opens for me in Sebring.

At least it's roadracing. The DP cars sure are ugly though.

+100

Daytona is a joke. Excitement level is low walking around the pits, the cars are boring, and the atmosphere is like every other cynically over-commercialized American sport.

Years ago it was incredible, the cars, the atmosphere, the racing itself. A real experience. Now it's completely different.

I agree it's not what it used to be but it is still what you make of it. Thanks for the bummer replies, I guess I won't see you guys there. We all don't have these tracks in our back yards to pop in, I still love this race and Sebring. Cannot get to them all. We have friends from the club, who do track photography, and crew for teams. I have respect for what the race still is and for and it's history.

I may be selling my 930, this might be a last hurra. Drive from va, no trailer ride for the ole girl.... Hope to catch up with some of you guys, cheers- mike

I far prefer ALMS as well but this year there are a lot of changes. Action Express is racing a Corvette DP car. There are several DP Corvettes. They have different body work than the standard cars and look much sleeker. It would appear Corvette wants this bad. Lots of GT cars as well with Audi R8's, and about every other sports car you can think of. The Roar before the 24 had a lot of attendance. It would appear Porsches will be swamped by the competition. I'll go but I'm sure I'll be grumbling the whole time....
