+1 on 912 Registry.
Here's one. Still a mystery of when it was installed, but it is a nice custom piece of real wood with no apparent seams or signs of being a cheap veneer. And although lacquered, it has a nice little aging/patina to it. Based upon the history I know about so far, the dials and wood have been there since 1986. Don't know anything about the car between '65 and '86 other than the shipping company in Holland (Pons) writing me that the car was a special handling item in which they imported it from Germany by a foreign client and immediately exported it to that client. They would not say who or where. Not sure what that means other than adding to the mystery. As time permits I'll be doing some more fact finding.

Right now what I know for sure is that it's a pleasure to own and drive. And it certainly gets attention. Of course, you have already been asked questions that I have received such as what year 911 it is or what model VW. Those are guys asking those questions. The women just say "cute car."

I recall my 66 911 had the wood dash, but did not have the wheel. Nice find!

pdxjim - Here is a '66 911. Look familiar? It sure looks like mine ex the end caps.

I'm sticking by my original assertion that the wood dash is original.
