they should fit with out any problems (unless you put on some huge brakes. if you have stock sized 914 brakes you should be ok). they could work for you or against you in auto-x.. you will have a harder time finding high performance tires in the size, but i believe it can be done.. many people auto-x with 14 inch fuchs.. cheeper, and uber light. one of lightest wheels porsche ever made -only 2nd or 3rd behind mahle gas burners i believe.
if not for auto-xing you could use them as your street/show wheels, and save the phonies for auto-x only.
I will be in Dayton on march 12.

wait, you have 911 rotors and calipers on now.. what year are they from? i believe they will fit up through 73. maybe higher.
14s were on 70 911T's.

Hey xsboost90, nice looking work on the 914. I bet you will have a lot of fun with it. Just wanted to pass on a tip. It looks like you must have had some rust at the front fender to cowl seam, as I noticed that you removed the plastic molding and filled in the gap.
I have gone through problems with that area. My car had sustained damage at that location before I bought it, and when I repaired it properly I was forced to fill in that area. I ended up brazing that connection and putting body filler over the top of it, but it has still cracked after a couple of subsequent repairs.
The problem is that the chassis flexes too much right at that location as the front of the chassis really isn't stiff enough. It wasn't until I welded tubular reinforcements to triangulate the dash to the upper strut mount, and the upper strut mount to the front suspension arm mount that I finally fixed the flex problem. Still, one side has a hairline crack.
Just wanted to pass on the advice. Maybe you will be lucky and have less trouble than I did, or maybe you can take some kind of other precaution to address this problem. It's a real bummer when it cracks right there shortly after the paint job.
Good luck,
Sean

did you weld the seam up or cut out the entire area and weld in a panel like i did. I cant find any good place to trianglate the dash to the fender, where did you do yours?
anyway, here is some of the progress from this weekend. Started stripping the car w/ chem stripper and a sander.
the last pic is my belated birthday present.

got alittle done the last few days, it was cold there for a while and my heater broke so i took a little break from the car. Finally got the heater fixed and did some primer work to the rear quarters, one door and the hood/trunk. NOw more blocking, sanding and primering, hopefully itll be ready to paint and warm up enough that i can paint it within the next few weeks or the end of march.

Love it, Dan! 914 progress **** is prolly as good as it gets, man. You're planning to stick with the 2.0 4, correct? Any plans for gnarly fat carbs, or you staying stock? Look like you went with coil-over rear suspension, or are those helper springs?
I'm presuming you sourced the 911 suspension stuff from a dismantler/ parts car? What does that set you back, anyhow? Last question for now, I promise. What's the color gonna be? Black phones with that silver or white would look BOSS. I've been lurking over at 914club, and it seems like cookies and phones get a lot of love in that crowd. Helluva lot cheaper than fuchs, I'm sure. I LOVE it, man! I want one now...

just painted it! silver and black. The front suspension stuff is from a 78 911, a friend of mine upgraded to big brakes so i got the hole shebang for 250! the rear springs are the factory diameter but they are actually off of pete's s2, they are 160lbers so i used them on the back to offset my big swaybar. Phones def get the love at the 914club but im looking at some polished fuchs i maybe able to get, if they will fit into the wheelwell.
