Yes, worse than you think ... much worse.

Besides a pair of outer rocker panels, you MAY also need inner and outer longitudinals (the expen$ive panel$), depending on how deep the cancer (i.e. rust) is running.

You're only looking at the surface, wait until you really dig into it; surprises await!

Best you set aside all the "mods" you've been asking about until you get the chassis sorted out, that area alone can run into $eriou$ $$$.

Oh, really? Have you removed both seats, center console, & backpad, and peeled-back/removed the carpeting & pedal board? Umm, how about way below the battery tray, along the engine shelf? Maybe even under the rear trunk carpet near the tail lights?

Click the site I recommended on 914Club and check all the areas THEY make rot-through replacement panels for; that stuff's made for a reason.

If the rockers look like that your sail panels are probably shot, as is the battery tray and the panel below it. I'm afraid the more you look the more you'll find. Are door panel gaps equal? Wouldn't be surprised if the car may fold in half with no top on and the windows down, unfortunately...

GAAA!!! MY EYES!!!!

Sorry, but someone has to tell you. You own a parts car. You'll spend at least twice what the car is worth fixing that much rot.

I think the best advice would be to .....

RUN AWAY !!!

I have got a 914/6 body back in shape and it took new inner longitudinals, new outer sills, New inner wings in a few places, new targa strengthers, repairs to the oil tank panel, new headlight surrounds, new battery tray, new boot floor, 4 new wings (fenders?), and a few more bits and pieces.

while I will have spent the value of the 914/6 to get the car into shape you will never recover the value of a 914 in this condition.

P.S. Don't take the roof off and open the doors at the same time !!!!
