Unhappy fuel pump

where o' where is the fuel pump suppose to be located on a 71 914 1.7 L ?
mine is not working and i don't hear the buzz when the key is turned on. tomorrow i need to trace the wiring to confirm power.

Underneath right-hand-side engine tray.

If you're planning to trace out wiring, than it's time to buy a Haynes manual.

Check the relay first. It's on the relay board on the driver's side of the engine bay. You can swap in a headlamp relay if you don't have any spares on hand.

i found it! someone(not the PO) put it under the fuel tank
i somehow thru testing the circuits at the connector on the circuit board manage to just start the pump working again. all i did was go from red to red/black wires and it started buzzin again.
now to get the timing and idle set properly...PO messed those up also
