Default Romanowski & Gratton on the hunt!

The 914 forum has been dead for a while, so I am starting a thread. A co-worker of mine has a '71 914 (of course it isn't 6). She and her husband bought this 914 brand new. The car never saw a winter and has only been their summer fun car. In 1980 the car was parked because it needed front shocks and never saw the road again. She said it only has 70K on it and it is not rusted (or doens't have much is how I took it) Anyway, she said she would sell it cheap if I was interested. I am hoping to drag the big guy with me over to look at it next week if possible.

I will take pictures and keep you posted.

A '71 could be a six, I had one of 240 or so imported that year.
That one sounds interesting though- PIX!!!

Thanks for posting. I have been checking the 914 site for the past few weeks, and it has been bare. Not good. Even if it is slightly lame post it so that we can at least keep our tongue wet.

My co-worker knows it isn't a six, but on the other hand she said it did used to dust their friends 240Z back in the day, so I have my fingers crossed. I also don't know the color yet, I will be seeing the car next week, so I will get pictures.

Yeah, but back when you bought your 914, "real porsches" only had 4 cylinders, 911's were bought by posers and 356's were still giving folks more trouble than they could handle

Jay... I wonder if her idea of cheap is your idea of cheap. Keep us posted!

For me, every winter reminds me of looking for another 914.

She told me $500, but I would feel bad giving her that if it is any good. She is a co-worker/friend. Going to try and drag Romanowski with me. I might even bring my video camera and post some youtube stuff.

Working on it for next week! I just hope it isn't a parts car.

Even as a parts car, it's worth $500. Tell her I'LL take it...
Actually been thinking about that, buying some 914s and either parting them out, or fixing them up depending on thier condition. Looking at selling some 914 upgrade stuff a local guy here makes, like really nice /6 engine mounts and a bracket we developed for the throttle cable bell crank.

Hell yes $500 would be a good deal for a "parts" car!! Unfortunately not a side shifter, that alone would make it worth it!
