I thought we all bought these cars for status???? You mean to tell me you're driving these cars like they were meant to be driven??? Although I agree that is should be done on the track, I'm sure I will be playing on the road a few times too. I don't push a car to the edge on-road and feel fully comfortable of controlling the stituation if there is any chance that a given situation could be saved or corrected. As for top sped runs, I don't ususally do them and I make sure that I'm quite a bit out of the way before I do them. And yes, there are always those chances that we take at legal speeds. Just my rant.

Skip's message just reminded of a video/website I saw. Some guy that was drag-racing a turbo Doge mini-van of sorts? Was pulling in the 10s or so I think...

We're revving, getting a little movement against the fully-applied brakes waiting for green. Gave the look, then the thumbs-up - when the tree dropped I pulled him off the line but he crept level with me in the first 50 feet. Then, he's totally lost behind me. Turns out he was trying to manual shift the auto from 1 to 2 and lost it in neutral. Totally owned his ***. Man, those younger racing days were wild and crazy... lucky I survived to talk about it.
