Don't expect to need to tow my 944, but when i may happen, how does a 944 get pulled onto the flatbed... i don't seem to recall seeing any tow hooks.... Thanks.

more important is how the car gets tied down.........and that is were the quality of the towing company comes in verses ....i'm broke down in bum puck ga. ....get me outta here towing company . I was 30 years towing and they were my trucks .....iirc i only left a few know it alls where they were ....i NEVER had a damage claim .

If you don't have a Turbo or S2 then you don't have the handy dandy factory tow hook that screws into the front bumper My old 84 "Goldie" had a ride or two on a flat bed and it was pulled on by hooking a chain into the holes in the jacking pads under the doors. I was skeptical but driver seemed to know what he was doing and it turned out OK both times. The shape of the jacking pads didn't stay the same through out production so your experience may vary if you have a later car.

For an NA car, they usually put a hook through one of the holes under the aluminum front bumper. I've seen more conscientious guys use axle straps over the control arms.

The car has tie down hooks on the frame rails by the radiator.

those are fine to pull the car up onto a flatbed. Did it more times than id care to admit my car needed towing, lol

I have a tow eye bolted onto the rear suspension area (rennbay??). The last time the car did the ride of shame that was what he used.

I had the same experience with my late 944. This is the proper way to pull the car onto the flatbed.

when my clutch slave failed, the wrecker driver questioned the tow eye. lol

if a wrecker came out he should laugh at you and your tow eye.......now a flat-bed might give you a notice but i would still hook/strap to a control arm
