I can get one in the morning (PST). What's an "EX" warning light? I can get it but not sure where it is?

Mine's a Left Hand Drive BTW. Noticed you were on the other end of the planet where things spin the other direction..

It’s EGT or exhaust gas temperature, some row cars had them iirc Japan, Australia and most Middle East countries. It’s warning that the cat is getting too hot by a sensor next to the O2 sensor. Now you all know why there is what looks like another O2 sensor blank on the downpipe on US models.

Its most likely just a spurious warning if you’re doing spirited driving in hot weather but if it keeps coming on or stays on it could be a blocked cat. If it’s a race car you’ve probably removed the cat anyway so just disconnect the sensor and it should go away.

Not the best of photos, but this is my US '89 S2:

Did a post a few (four!) years back about swapping the bulbs out to LEDs which may be of service, though I'm working with a US model: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...ence-post.html

I guess I can't help then since mines also a US car, nothing between the gauges. Sorry.

US 944's and 968's shouldn't have the EX warning light. I have one on my Japanese LHD 968. I haven't heard of Aussie S2's having/needing them, maybe those were Japanese grey imports as they are common in NZ too (in both RHD and LHD). Japanese cars also have a road flare with holder in the drivers footwell and the 968 have clear lens reverse lights.

Kiwi, are you in the NZ transaxle FB group?

But facebook is awful when having a technical discussion and to be quite frank any technical discussion on facebook seems to bring the idiots out of the walls...
