One thing to always keep in mind with the automotive aftermarket..
there's a ton of brands but only a handful of factories where components are made.
take a look at any part on rockauto, compare brand names and price range... then you notice that they all use a variant of the same part number... suspicious, isn't it?
i once bought a part from Oreilly (murray branded box) and on the part inside there was a 'spectra' sticker (autozone house brand).
most of the non genuine or non OEM parts are just rebranding with someone else's sticker.

Yeah. Welcome to the modern age.
There were favorable reports on Reim mounts in the past, but the ~$20 ones I got are likely not going to be all that great.
We shall see. The replacement job wasn't all that big of a deal (compare it to a 928 or Cayenne Turbo if you want some laughs), so if I have to replace these in a year or so, not that big of a deal.
The old adage "You get what you pay for" is still very true, especially when it comes to parts for expensive cars.

I suspect at $20, the Rein mounts are not what they once were, either.
Still, a lot of people seem to swear by Rein.
By the way, anyone want to take a guess at who owns Rein??
CRP.

@s85b50 : for the later cars, 89 - 91, PET has them as N 022 149 2, described as "Lock Nut VM 10", part 5 in this diagram:
I believe that the earlier cars eventually went to this style of mount, as well, but I've never done this job so I'm only speaking from memory of what I've read here on RL.
Good luck

I just installed mounts on a 944S2. I actually ordered cheap mounts from FCP to see they are indeed solid rubber junk. I ended up sourcing genuine mounts and installing those. The cars new owner now has some nice crappy mount paper weights too.
