Default Lift points with Quickjack on 924S/944

This thread on lift points…
https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...ck-points.html
… got me thinking about how I use my Quickjack 3500 on my 924S.

Up to now I have used the recommended rear and the NOT recommended front points under the rocker panels (see the diagram in post #7 of the above thread.)

I had already made a set of lift bars to extend the reach of the Quickjacks on my 928…
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...a-928-a-2.html
My idea was to use the lift bars with an additional support under the jack point in the middle of the 924S rocker panels to spread the weight of the front of the car between two points (Quickjack discourages using the jacks rails to lift… so my liftbars transfer the weight to the Quickjack trays front and rear).

This morning I tried the liftbars under the 924S with hockey pucks front, rear and middle. Seems to have worked fine, the car was stable and the front and middle pucks both took at least some weight judging from the impressions in the rubber. Setup is a bit longer what with installing the liftbars and aligning 6 points instead of 4, but if it helps to prevent distortion of the floor it’s worth the effort.

For next time I will buy some more pucks to double them up in the middle and the rear as the contact with the lift points is borderline.

The Quickjack with liftbar and pucks installed.

and a view with the car lifted...

I have the 5,000 model and I just used the thick rubber blocks and went straight to the rear and front jack points. I skipped the middle one. Seems fine. I have the quickjack extensions but I only need those on my E39 BMW.

Although you're using pucks in 3 places, the vast majority of the weight will only be on two of them. I would suggest skipping the middle one and using the front and rear points for the best stability.

My front jack points seemed a little higher than the rears, so I used the thick rubber blocks in front and the thinner ones in the back. Also because otherwise the quickjack frame presses up on the rubber trim at the front, which is slightly lower than the jack point.

Did you end up doing the same, or just using the thick blocks for all four? I’m curious if the fronts are higher up for a reason and if not using all of the same block heights would affect stability at all. I’ll have to double check next time I use it, but I think because my car’s been lowered, the thick blocks also wouldn’t fit at the rear.

I used the thick blocks on all 4 corners. I think my 944 is (currently) stock ride height. If you can't fit the blocks you want, then try driving up on some boards first before sliding the quick jack under. I have to do with with my m5.
