Default Cooling fans

When I was doing the TB change on my new to me 944 I noticed one of the cooling fans was unplugged. In asking the experts (you guys) I figured out the unplugged one doesn't turn easy. I have the old 3 blade fans, would it be easier to replace everything with a newer 6 blade unit rather then replace the one fan.

Along with that does anyone have a later fan unit to sell LOL.

Thanks

I love the 6 blade over 3. much quieter, and make me less nervous when the fan turn on.

here is my conversion: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...onversion.html

I have two 3 blades fans that will and up to 6 blades if you want

Seriously, I think I have a 6 blades fan lying somewhere if you are looking for one.

the blades will swap between motors in about 30 seconds. you can use a 6-blade on a 3-blade motor and vice versa.

pry off the clip gently, pull off the blade, swap blades, reinsert clip.

I remember I had trouble removing the blade from the motor. I stopped when I feel like I am about to break the plastic from prying...

some motors ive seen (i have a lot) the end of the shaft is slightly flared out for some reason, probably to help ensure the blade doesn't come off easily.
i've had to lightly grind those to get the blades off before, yes.

now you brush up my memory. how do you put the fan back on security after grinding the flare off?

not grinding it off entirely...just grinding off the 1/64" that the shaft has "mushroomed". not affecting the fan clip at all in my experience
