I agree, the 3.6 Liter 993 Turbo Cups are the quintessential wheel your unique project car deserves. Yes they are pricey- so spare no expense protecting them either. FYI: Try looking into RH-Alurad wheels too...they are identical to the original Cups, at a fraction of cost. They even have the exact amount of like wheel studs, and weigh close to each other. Cap the hub off with an OEM Cup one...and its off to Monterey Classics Concours!

My choices would be as follows:

1) BBS LM (Lemans) like UDPrides, about $3000
2) Replica 964 3.6 Turbo, about $2000 (original "Speedline for Porsche" are expensive but can find them for $3000 second hand).
3) GT3 by SSR (have to go to 18 inch and they show a lot of brake rotor and caliper) for about $2500
4) Cup1 replicas, simple design looks great, plentiful and inexpensive, easy to clean, but heavy, about $1200

I had a C2 with the 17" turbo cup I's and loved 'em. I haven't seen an application yet where they have failed to look tough (they are espically sweet on 968's IMHO). On a side note they are fairly easy to clean too, sports not so much...

<$2000 for a set of 3 piece 17" rims built to your specs. Lots of people on this list who use them heavily in track and street usage. Light and strong.

Do a quick search for pics of them on a 951.
Have to second this recommendation. I picked up a set yesterday in 17" x 9" and 10". They were so light I had to put them in boxes to keep them from floating away.

I like the 17" Sport Classics. I put a set on my Black 1988 944 and think they look amazing. I bought them at the begining of the summer from wheel enhancement.com and they gave me a good deal. When putting these wheels on you have to put a 1/4 in. spacer on the front wheels so the center caps will fit. I also think the car rides great with them.

If you want to see pictures of the wheels on my car go to Click here to see pictures of my car with sport classic wheels.

Its your car though so pick whatever you think looks best. Your car is an expression of you.

Good luck in your serch for wheels. Also try calling wheelenhancement i found them esay to deal with and their pricing pritty good. (not plug i have no connections just thought they gave me good service)

The 993 Cup wheels look fantastic on 944s. There should be plenty of used ones from 993s that have upgraded. I think they are the most like the original phone dials, but I'm torn between putting those on my 944 or putting that money into a Boxster Coupe next year.
