Default Weird 944 S2 mirror - help identify

Hi, guys!

I have recently bought awfully neglected 944 S2 with VIN WP0zzz94ZKN403299.

What surprises me - mirrors are completely different from what I expect to see on any 944.

Besides, there is no hole to release mirror glass!

Here is the picture:

One more strange thing (for me, at least) - there's an inscription 16 Ventiler on trim.

Any ideas what it may be?

Looks like the ones used in Jacquemond body kits

The mirror looks to be an aftermarket piece painted body color. The "16 Ventiler" just means 16 valves in German.
Is that the original color?

Your car is a model year 1989, Euro/"Rest of World" spec, 944S2 made in the Neckarsulm plant (where all the 944s except for a few of the very late 1991 S2s were made).

Looks neat. Post some more pice please!

I cant wait to see pictures. That cant be cobalt, to light overall. It might be that other blue that i havent found a name for yet. Someone posted a couple pictures of a 944 in a color that looks really similar not too long ago.

Thumbs up

Thank you, Sami951!

I think that's it.

As I said, the car is in bad shape, so there are not many great pictures. Besides, it's 3 AM in Moscow now!

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. I would appreciate any help as I need to fix almost every part in this steel horse to make it run.

Anyone to show me the clutch bell housing with ground point attachment? (shamed to say, but haven't seen the underbody yet)? I have got a Y-cable for ground, short part leading for fire partition near the cruise control mount. It looks awfull, and I'm sure that's not right.

Should I start a new thread for that?
Can I post more than 1 picture at once?

Thanks in advance. Here's the car:

Hmm....that looks like cobalt...but that first picture seems way too light. Im curious to get the paint code! Ive been trying to keep track of how many Cobalt Blue factory cars pop up. Im at about 8 right now. I wish you the best of luck with it! I bet you will get it running great with all the assistance you can get from the forums here.

I hate to say it, as I dont generally like aftermarket garbage, but those mirrors look very good. Def. one of the best colors ever on a 944 as well. Sounds/looks like a pretty decent find.

Matt, I have to agree with you. The thought crossed my mind too that it looks good, well, decent. I would never buy em, but not bad. Those words are straight out of my mouth.

They look stupid on the jaquemond car. They look real good on your car. That cobalt 951 Cab that was in another post last week had the aero mirrors similar to those and they looked good. I think its the color. Medium and light shades of blue seem to do wonders on this body style.

Is that radio antenna standard on ROW S2s? I've wanted to do something like that to get rid of the one in the windsheild, but I'm weary about poking holes in a car that sees plenty of rain, and more snow and salt than I would like.

If that isnt standard, then its the 968 antenna. You can convert to 968 easily.
