I haven't messed with a late 944 PS pump in over a decade.
Wondering if anyone can confirm something for me about the mounting...

I know that there's a spacer at the back and a spacer at the front.
The double-ended stud slips into the slot in the front of the bracket, the small spacer locates the stud.

A bolt comes in from the back through the rear spacer and threads into the pump body.

My question is...is there any washer that secures the rear bolt against the engine bracket itself? To sort of "sandwich" the pump on both front and back of the bracket?
Or, does the rear bolt only serve to secure the rear spacer to the pump to keep it centered in the bracket...and the whole pump is only actually "tightened to the engine" by the nut on the front?

PET doesn't show a washer for the rear bolt and I don't recall one being there last time I was doing the pump either.

...so the back bushing just sort of "hangs in there"?

I went out and checked; turns out I misspoke about what I have. I do have a washer between the rear bolt and the spacer, ordinary M8 sized which is basically the same diameter size as the spacer. I have no idea if the washer was there originally from the factory but thats how I redid it.

the pet for the 968 shows a washer inboard of the front spacer/bushing and no washer at the bolt head.

I believe the front bushing hole in the balance shaft bracket has a stop at the bottom. the clamping force on the rear is from the bolt head, rear bushing and pump body and the clamping force from the front is the nut, spacer and then washer. the rear is just placement and the front is what secures the assembly besides the turnbuckle.

that was my analysis too - i am hanging an alternator in that bracket in place of the PS Pump so i am wanting a secure connection.

i'll figure a way (shim washers probably) to get actual clamping on the backside of the bracket to make it solid, will try to remember to report back.
