Default Attaching Power Steering Pump to Engine

My 944 came with the power steering pump detached and I'm now trying to re-install it but am unsure of how it is attached (or what hardware is required).

Does anybody have a photo or diagram showing how the joint between the power steering pump and engine is assembled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check this how-to on Pelican. Has some reference photos.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like there are actually two bushings in the assembly. I may need to do a bit of digging.

it helps if you state the year of your car. latter cars use a 13 and 26mm bushing.

when you ready to adjust the belt, leave the pivot loose a turn. also, have the eyelet ends of the turnbuckle mounts snug but not tight. now adjust the turnbuckle to tighten the belt to the proper deflection.
pinch up the right and left hand locknuts, torque the eyelet ends to spec, torque the pivot bolts to spec and then tighten the lock nuts on the turnbuckle to spec.

if you leave the ends loose and lock the turn buckle with the eyelets not in the same plane, the turnbuckle can fail or the ears can snap off the pump or lower balance housing. happens all the time and also occurs on the AC compressor ears.

Thanks for the additional advice. The car is a 1986 NA if that changes anything.

Careful, some of these are broken due to people adjusting the belts without loosening up the strut attachments and the pivot bolts first. Those struts can tear the PS or AC right off the engine or destroy themselves if not used properly.
If you have any issues with the struts loosen them on the bench or replace them, they are cheap used-good. The strut will adjust easily with the pivots and end bolts tight due to the huge mechanical advantage, but in that situation they are bending or breaking stuff. Later, accessories might fall out of the car on the road. Unfortunately a common problem.
