I know the feeling. Gotta be super vigilant in these cars. they are magnets for speed enforcers.
I was in the 3rd lane from the left and saw a car moving up fast behind me in the 4th lane. I am waiting for him to shoot past me on the right but he disappears in my blind spot. Finally he continues to pass and I see he is chp. Even though to his trained eye I am sure he could see I was within 5mph of 65 he slowed and paced me to be sure. He went on up the road and 10 miles later he had one of those big pick ups pulled over. I smilled the rest of the way home at my good fortune and somebody elses bad.
See you in traffic school. I got 50 in a 40 zone over christmas.

Um, you were doing 26 over the limit. What did you expect, anyway, a standing ovation or something?

Not sure about CA but here if you get caught doing 20 over and they have the right to haul your *** in.

You guys should move to Wisconsin, well at least Northeast wisconsin.
1. Caught doing 105 in a 55 = verbal warning (2000 Beetle)
2. Friend of mine shifting into 3rd at ridline in a 35 = written warning (928 S4)
3. Girlfriend 75 in a 55 = verbal warning (1986 Scirocco)
4. Caught doing 80 in a 55 = written warning (87 944S)
5. Going home one day on a two lane 55mph road, followed a county cop for about 15 miles doing 80 in the 944S.
Everytime I get pulled over, I'm told "since your driving record is clean....." due to all those verbal warnings!
I have gotten two tickets. One for doing 15 over on a race weekend in Elkhart Lake while honking at some girls (the cop was parked across the street, thought I was honking at him)

forget about how much over the limit you were, that isnt important... when your going over 90 you cant possibly argue the ticket or say the cop is a bastard...

You really don't want to be going 20MPH over in that case.

It is actually somewhat easy to hit 90 in medium/light congestion here in LA. A lane opens, and you can speed. I do it occasionally when i know there isn't an officer behind me, since im ALWAYS looking in my reaer view, even if i on a deserted road. It's bad, i know, but sometimes i do it. Should i get caught ill gladly pay.

There are several stretches of highway in California where going 90mph feels like the norm -- simply because everyone else is. You were just unlucky to get tagged -- sorry that it happened to you, but gotta pay to play...
