Hollywood- what is/are tingling your suspicions about flood damage? Not to dispute, just wondering what you are seeing!
#3, note disconnected ground. Also you are missing a metal bracket that holds the 2 sensors and the O2 sensor.
#4 PO alien wire
#5 Agree with the AC compressor clutch wire - but only for the plastic covered wire. On latter models there s only 1 wire, I wonder if earlier models have two?
#6 and #7 same as #3

We had a huge flood here in '10 and a neighbor of a client of mine couldn't get his '68 Jag convertible out before the water rose. Afterward it had a uniform layer of grime on it that looks a lot like what this car has going on in the engine bay. I may be imagining things but it would be nice to see more pics of the interior and exterior.

To me, those interior pics scream "water damage". The carpet looks like it was under water for awhile. I hope you got that car for a song and have a flush bank account. Good luck!

Might be. Although more than anything else, regardless of flood/no flood, there is a lot of work in front of you. Unless you are really sold on this particular car, you would likely be much better off to sell and purchase one that is already sorted and ready to enjoy. To get it into nice cosmetic and mechanical shape will cost more than the current market value of the car. I like that you are interested in the transaxle cars and keen to save one from the scrap, but you should be realistic about the amount of time and dollars that is necessary. Most often, the cheapest Porsche is the most expensive. I hold no illusions on costs - my '87 will need significant body work, and that is why it is going to be a project after I retire. I bought a 968 to drive in the meantime.

Thanks for the input. I actually got the car for free and abunch of parts came with it. Just not the under the hood pieces that are missing/removed. I was going to have the car wrapped instead of being painted. If i can find the missing pieces and parts under the hood i think its worth a shot. But im having a very hard time finding those. I have an Ecklers parts catalog but not too much in there for 944's. Plus i live in columbus ohio and there are no 944's in our junkyards for parts here. Its been a rough start on her honestly.

Theres going to be warmer weather here in a few days. Ill pull the battery thats in it and check. Im also missing the plastic trays or covers that go up to the windsheild. I actually found one junkyard thats close to me that have 2 84. 1 85 and one 86 944's. Can i pull off parts from those to replace whats missing on mine? Thanks all.

There's a Rennlist member here on the forum named "Plyhammer" that parts out 944's in Versailles, Ohio. You should look him up here, or if you look on Facebook Marketplace and put in a search for "944 parts" he will come up, his name is Mark. Between that, eBay, 944online, and Paragon Products there isn't much that you'd be wanting for.
If it hasn't been stated here already, you need to do a full timing belt/rollers/pump job on that before you start it. No telling how long its sat or the condition of the belts.
I personally would want to start with a better example but good onya for wanting to save another of the breed.
Good luck.
